The colour in white clay tiles is baked into the material at high temperatures, making it highly resistant to UV fading. However, in humid and high-rainfall regions, algae and mold growth can cause yellowish or dark staining on the surface over time. Regular gentle cleaning and applying a breathable UV-stable tile sealer helps maintain the white finish.

White clay roofing tiles need very little maintenance. Debris should be cleared regularly, and a gentle wash every 3 to 5 years keeps the surface clean. Visual inspections before and after monsoon season help identify any cracked or displaced tiles early. Avoid high-pressure washing as it can damage the tile glaze or protective coating.
